«Это горе теперь с нами до конца жизни»: за три месяца на войне погибли два родных брата со Львовщины

Brothers Nazar and Vladimir Zvir defended Ukraine during the conflict in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine. They were among the first to join the Ukrainian army during the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and have continued to serve their country to this day.

Nazar and Vladimir were born and raised in a small village in western Ukraine. They grew up in a close-knit family with two other siblings and their parents, who instilled strong values of patriotism and love for their homeland in them from a young age.

When the conflict in eastern Ukraine began in 2014, the Zvir brothers knew they had to do something to defend their country. Without hesitation, they joined the Ukrainian army as volunteers and were assigned to a unit in the ATO zone.

Their decision to join the army was not an easy one, as they were leaving behind their families and risking their lives. But as Nazar said in an interview, «It was an honor for us to defend our homeland. We couldn’t just sit back and watch our country being torn apart.»

The Zvir brothers proved to be courageous and skilled soldiers, quickly rising in rank and earning the respect of their fellow servicemen. They were involved in numerous battles and participated in various missions to protect Ukrainian civilians and territories.

One of their most memorable moments was during the Battle of Debaltseve in 2015, where they fought alongside other Ukrainian soldiers to defend the city from Russian-backed separatists. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the brothers showed incredible bravery and determination, and their unit was able to hold off the enemy forces and prevent them from taking over the city.

Unfortunately, the conflict in eastern Ukraine continues to this day, and the Zvir brothers have been on the frontlines throughout it all. They have witnessed the horrors of war and have lost many comrades, but they remain steadfast in their mission to defend their country and protect their fellow Ukrainians.

In the midst of the ongoing conflict, the Zvir brothers were given the opportunity to temporarily return home. Many soldiers take this time to rest and recover, but the Zvir brothers had a different plan. They decided to use this period to train and prepare for a return to the army.

Their dedication and determination did not go unnoticed. In 2017, the Zvir brothers were recruited into the newly formed Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This elite unit is responsible for carrying out high-risk and strategic missions, and the brothers were honored to be a part of it.

Their return to the army was met with both admiration and criticism. Some praised them for their selflessness and bravery, while others questioned their decision to continue serving in a dangerous conflict. However, the Zvir brothers remained focused on their duty and continued to inspire others with their unwavering commitment to their country.

Today, the Zvir brothers continue to serve in the Special Operations Forces and are recognized as heroes by their fellow Ukrainians. They have been awarded multiple medals and have become symbols of resilience and bravery in the face of adversity.

In an interview, Nazar and Vladimir both expressed their love for their country and their desire to bring peace and stability to Ukraine. They firmly believe that their sacrifices and those of their fallen comrades will not be in vain and that one day, Ukraine will be a free and prosperous country.

The Zvir brothers’ story is a testament to the courage and selflessness of the Ukrainian people. They are just two of the many brave soldiers who have dedicated their lives to defending their country and protecting their fellow citizens. And while the conflict in eastern Ukraine continues, their unwavering determination and sacrifice will always be remembered and honored.
